AFCON 2023 will continue on Sunday after the opening game on Saturday.

CAF has appointed 36-year-old Congolese referee, Jean Jacques Ndala Ngambo to be the middleman in the game between Ghana and Cape Verde on Sunday.

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ndala Ngambo is a top FIFA referee who officiated Mamelodi Sundown’s 2-0 win over Wydad Casablanca in the second leg of the African Football League finals.

In the just-ended FIFA Club World Cup, Ndala Jean Jacques officiated Urawa Reds of Japan’s 1-0 win over Mexico’s Club Leon.

Ghana will play against Cape Verde on Sunday at 8 pm in Abodjan at the Stede Felix Houphouet-Boigny.

In the other game in Ghana’s group, Bieida Dahane, 32, from Mauritania will be the centre referee for Egypt v Mozambique on Sunday.

Abongile Tom from South Africa will officiate Nigeria against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
