Kofi Owusu Aduonum, the sports editor for Daily Guide newspaper and husband of Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, has encouraged his wife to break the reord for the longest singing marathon set by Guinness World Records.
A GHOne TV Facebook post shows the husband holding a placard inscribed “More strength Afua!!!”.
The sports journalist aims to boost the moral of his wife who is a singer cum media personality.
Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum is inching closer to breaking the current Sing-a-thon record.
The current record which stands at 105 hours was set by the Indian singer in March 2012.
In her quest for the world record, Afua aims to sing for a duration ranging between 117 to 120 hours. Her focus is exclusively on songs from Ghana, celebrating Highlife, Hiplife, and Gospel genres.
A staunch advocate for women’s empowerment, she plans to adhere to GWR regulations, allowing each song to last a maximum of two minutes and permitting song repetition only after a four-hour interval.
Afua Asantewaa aims to sing about 2,300 Ghanaian songs for about 117 hours or more to break the Guinness World Records’ longest singing marathon. Her singing marathon which began on Sunday, December 24, will end on Wednesday, December 27, at Akwaaba Village, near Hajj Village.
So far, Afua has done about 82 hours and still counting.
