Gabonese referee Pierre Artcho Ghislain has been chosen by CAF to officiate Ghana’s crunch clash against Egypt on Thursday.
Ghana can’t afford to lose against Egypt in their second group game after abysmally losing to lowly-ranked Cape Verde 2-1 on Sunday.
Egypt on the other hand was nearly shocked by Mozambique as the Pharoahs came from behind in the 96th minute through Mohammed Salah’s spot Kick to draw 2-2.
Gabonese referee Ghislain will have a huge task to ensure a successful night for both teams as they are under severe pressure to deliver.
Ghana will play against Egypt at 8 pm on Thursday in Abidjan at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.
Atcho Gislain officiated Ghana’s 3-1 success over Zimbabwe in October 2021 at the Cape Coast Stadium during the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
