Inaki Williams, the attacker for Athletic Bilbao, has arrived for preparations in Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be played in Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars’ most important addition, Williams, arrived in Accra on Thursday and will meet up with his teammates in Kumasi on Friday to continue the preparations.
Williams was initially supposed to come on Monday, but he had to postpone his trip after becoming ill.
It is expected that the arrival of the prolific striker will strengthen Ghana’s offensive capabilities as they look to snap a 42-year drought and win the AFCON title.
The only player who hasn’t yet joined the squad is Mohammed Kudus, who delayed his arrival because of a minor injury.
The Black Stars are getting ready for their January 8 friendly match against Namibia before travelling to Abidjan for the AFCON competition.
Ghana is competing for continental supremacy with Egypt, Mozambique, and Cape Verde in Group B.
