AFCON 2023: Chris Hughton names 27-man squad for the tournament

Ghana head coach Chris Houghton has named his final 27-man squad for AFCON 2023. Skipper Andre Ayew will equal the record for most AFCON appearance

Ghana head coach Chris Houghton has named his final 27-man squad for AFCON 2023.

Skipper Andre Ayew will equal the record for most AFCON appearances (8) by Rigobert Song and Ahmed Hassan as he headlines the squad.

Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu, Westham forward Mohammed Kudus and Athletic Bilbao’s forward Inaki Williams are all included.

Asante Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey, Medeama’s duo Hamidu Fatawu and Jonathan Sowah are all selected among the 27-man squad.

However, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, Southampton’s Kamaldeen Suleymana and Leicester City’s Fatawu Issahaku all miss out.

Ghana is in Group B as Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique for the AFCON.
